Evening.
How was everyones' Saturday been?
I went bridesmaid dress shopping today - it was so much fun and a beautiful bridesmaid dress has been purchased, its very exciting :)
So as promised, I'm back with another Birthday card I made for a recent order.
I love the simplicity of it, and of course my love of butterflies makes it a winner. I used pink polka dot backing paper from Papertrey Ink and stamped two butterfly outlines and a sentiment using black ink. I finished off the card with bakers twine and a few stick on gems!
I think this card is such great design as it can be made in pretty much any colour - good for matching to peoples individual preferences.
What do you think?
I hope you all have a lovely Saturday night, I shall hopefully be back soon (probably tomorrow) with some more creations.
Thank you for reading, take care.

I'm back....
Good Afternoon Everyone!
So as my post explained the other day I am so sorry for my absence, it’s been nearly a month and I can’t believe it feels so much longer. I have missed blogging and sharing everything with everyone – I feel I have neglected you all.
After gathering some lovely comments I’ve realised how much I love card making and being creative and I really hope to have a less busy time of it in the upcoming months.
So enough of doom and gloom – it’s about time I shared some creations with you!
I got asked to make this card for a girly girls birthday. I was having one of those days where I have loads of ideas in my head but whenever I try and make it, it looks awful and it gets ripped up and put in the bin! This was until I ordered some embossing folders!! I automatically fell in love with this star print. Isn’t it bizarre how something so simple can create a card I’m so proud of!
Obviously it wouldn’t be one of my cards with out at least a touch of craft card onto which I stamped “Happy Birthday” and added a bit of sparkle with some stick on pink gems! I couldn’t resist using some of my new Papertrey Ink “In Bloom” paper in such a gorgeous pink colour. I finished off the card with some mini ric rak (which I am completely in love with at the moment) and some bakers twine. I have to say the card went down really well. After making it in pink I couldn’t wait to try in blue for boys!!
Wow – it feels so good to blog again!! I hope you leave some comments – good or bad, all are welcome!
I shall be back tomorrow following on from the pink theme!

Sincere Apologies.
I am soooooo sorry.
I feel truly awful that I have neglected you! There has just been so much going on. My mum has been quite poorly and all my attention has been going to her. Work is manic, loving my new Team Leader role but the new contract has kept me mega busy! And last but not least we have been decorating so everything is everywhere but... fear not I am back. I have been still busy creating.
I will be back tomorrow to share some cards with you!
Thank you all so much for bearing with me!
I really appreciate it.
Lots of crafty love.

A few spooky offerings...
Hello Everyon...
Sorry for my lack of blogging recently... we've been working really hard on Christmas Cards and the website. We're really trying to get the Christmas section up by the end of the week.
I wanted to share with you a couple of spooky offerings. Every year I hold a Halloween Party - I love Halloween so much. By the time i'm finished with the house it looks like a Haunted house, theres decorations in nearly every room, the garden is transformed into a graveyard and I go to work on making and baking ghoulish treats and witches brew. This year will be no different...we're having our party next Saturday (29th) I've already made a list of food to cook and we've got out big box of decorations from the loft - a few new ones have been purchased! I cannot wait. So all was left to do was make some invites! This year I have to admit they are slightly childish but I couldn't resist using my new stamp set from PTI.
Simple but great to make in bulk...I have to say the spider is my favourite. What do you think?
Right thats it from me for now...I will be back later with another post, I promise!

A few things to show you...
Morning all...
How is everyone?
Its so busy busy busy at Flutterby Towers this week. So much going on and lots of thoughts flying around. I got home yesterday to find that my recent Papertrey Ink order had arrived - my eyes lit up and I was like a kid at Christmas, can you blame me look at all my goodies...
This arrival means that I can now get cracking on Halloween goodies and Christmas cards which I have been waiting to do for weeks!
I also wanted to share with you a couple of pics of my tags! If you remember a few days ago I said that I had been commissioned to make some gift tags to go along side some Birthday cakes - well these are the finished results...
Don't these cakes look amazing - I just think the whole package looks so good!
And last but not least...I wanted to share with you a boy card I made which is just so versatile. I'm thinking it could be made using any combination of colours to recreate team colours and it was so quick and easy to do...but perfect for any football fanatic.
What do you think?
Well thats all from me today - I will hopefully be back tomorrow with some new things to share with you.

What do you think?...
Evening all...
How are you all? Good weekend?
I've been feeling rather strange this weekend - I don't seem to have any motivation. I have struggled all weekend to come up with any ideas- or I would but then they didn't look right. So this weekend I have been mainly battling with myself.
One thing I have managed to do is finally come up with a logo and set up I am 100% happy with. My amazing friend made me a beautiful logo not so long ago but there was just something that didn't feel right. I know I was a complete nightmare to work with especially when I didn't know really what I wanted. But whilst sitting sketching the other night I had a vision and I knew exactly what I had to do - and there you have it. I promise I will not be changing anytime soon!
So as promised on Friday I said I had something non cardy to share with you. If you remember I shared all the components a few weeks ago and I have finally sat down to make them.
I am so happy with these, I think they are so cute! I have no idea how i'm going to package them yet- thats my next task.
I can't wait to get them on the website, I think they'll make great gifts. But the big question is what do you think?
I would love to read your comments.
Right well i'm off to bed, hopefully I will find some motivation from somewhere, I hope so as my Papertrey Ink parcel will be here tomorrow. YESSSS!!

A Bright Birthday...
MORNING…
Apologises for shouting… but its Friday and it has put me in a good mood!
So what’s everyone got planned for the weekend? Its going to be a busy one for me. I’m going out for dinner at a new pub which has opened down the road from me with some of Adam’s friends who are visiting, then I’m working Saturday morning and then I’m out for a friends birthday on Saturday night. So in between working and recovering from an imminent headache I am hoping to get cracking on my Christmas card boxes if I don’t distracted with something else (which is highly possible)
My number one fan has been on at me again to make her another card, this time for her dad – I think I might be putting her local Clintons out of business. The brief of this card was – it’s for dad, he likes red and orange and do whatever you like! Bit vague but I thought I’d have a bash anyway! I realised I hadn’t used my Papertrey Alpha Blocks for a while so I dug them out and dusted them off and this is what I came up with. I used scraps of Pink Petticoat and doodlebug papers and layered them up and added the letters. I had recently ordered some lovely mini rik rak which was meant for my Halloween invites but I just couldn’t resist this alongside some of the old favourite bakers twine. A simple but bright and fun card – I did warn you, you would need your sunnies!!
Well that’s all for me today. Thank you all for reading. Hope you have a nice weekend.
I’ll be back tomorrow to share with you something that is not card related! But don’t worry its still good – I hope!
Take care

Tag it #2...
Good Morning…
How is everyone today…?
This weather is so barmy! I wish it would make its mind up! One day I am in shorts and the next its woolly jumpers! I suppose I shouldn’t complain any weather is good for crafting!
I wanted to share with you today a commission order I received the other week. After my post showing you two cards I’d made using Pink Petticoats wheelbarrows I’d been asked to make a card suitable for a Great Aunt. I thought that they would be perfect – lots of soft pastel shades for a pretty card. So this is what I came up with. Using the same layout as before, but a different colour combination - I used bakers twine and a lovely lilac button to finish the card and after my recent placing of sentiments I decided to use the tab style for this card.
What do you think?
But wait… that’s not all…
My friend from school makes cakes. They are amazing. She makes the most beautiful cupcakes and cake pops. They are so amazing she supplies them to Carrington Cafes in Cambridgeshire. I got a message from her the other day asking if I could make some tags for a few birthday orders she has coming up. As I am always up for a challenge I could hardly say no! After sending me the colours she was using these are what I made. I die cut flowers from some paper scraps and stuck them together and added a button and bakers twine. I stitched round the edge of the kraft card and the coloured card with the sentiment, punched a hole and threaded the ribbon. What do you think? Hopefully she’ll use me again for more tag designs.
So that’s all for today folks. I shall be back tomorrow with another commission piece, bring your sunnies, it’s a bit bright.
Take care

Blue Butterflies...
Hello Everyone…
So why has my life been so hectic recently…well.
After nice leisurely sunny Sunday of baking, making and tidying, we decided that it was cool enough to take Flo down the lakes for a nice long walk and a bit of a paddle. It’s such a nice place to go and have a long run about for her and a stroll and a natter for us. Then all hell broke loose…she was attacked by another dog. The next half an hour was a bit of a blur – there were two dogs and the owners were no where to be seen – after shooing them away and coaxing Flo out of the brambles we discovered that she had been quite badly bitten and was bleeding from her side. After an emergency trip to the vets and some surgery and stitches, she’s just about on the mend. But of course is sore and shaken and not a fan of other dogs at the minute. So yes the last few days have been…well emotional and worrying but fingers crossed all is calming down.
So…back to the job in hand. Today I wanted to share with you a card using one of my favourite elements- BUTTERFLIES. I find butterflies just so versatile, as well as being pretty, feminine and delicate.
I’ve noticed recently that I’ve been using a lot of pinks and purples so I’ve been trying to increase my colour palette. I die cut two sizes of nestabilities and two large butterflies from Papertrey Ink cardstock and a matching blue butterfly from Pink Petticoats Brocade release. I finished this simple card with crystals and pearls, some button twine and a sentiment ribbon also from Pink Petticoat.
What do you think?
I am eagerly awaiting my new delivery from Papertrey – hopefully it’ll be here this week so I can have a play this weekend J
Anyway that’s all from me today – I shall be back tomorrow with part one of my recent commissions.

New Shoes...
Evening all...
How are you all?
I will apologise for the very short post tonight - it has been a hectic few days and I will explain all tomorrow.
I want to share with you a card I made for Adams, brothers, girlfriend and this one has made it all the way to New Zealand.
For this card I mixed and matched - I stamped this beautiful show using a Woodware stamp and the sentiment is from a Papertrey Ink set. Then I added lots of glitz and glam with adhesive gems in luscious pink and purples.
What do you think?
I shall be back tomorrow in a bit more detail.

Wild Blossoms...
Evening all...
How is everyone? Hope everyone is enjoying this crazy Indian Summer were having at the moment.
I feel slightly disappointed with myself this month - I have only posted 18/19 times! My aim next month is to do better!
I have re-kindled my obsession with Pink Petticoat this month, and I wanted to share with you two simple girly cards I've made for my friends.
I love how simple and girly they are. I used papers from Wild Blossom and Hydrangea collections, and sentiments from tiny blooming sentiments.
What do you think?
I have such a busy day tomorrow - so I will back soon with lots more creations.

Ice cream swirls...
Morning all...
Just a quick post to show you today - as promised.
Today is the turn of my card for "Grandad".
I made this card using a selection of Pink Petticoat papers, bakers twine, a lovely lime green button and again a homemade sentiment banner.
What do you think? I love the mixture of greens - i'm probably a bit biased as it is my favourite colour. I have so much to show you this week. I promise I'll be back tomorrow in more detail.
In the meantime if anyone is interested in me making a card for a special occasion please email me at contact@creationsbyflutterby.co.uk and I will be happy to help.

A wheelbarrow full of flowers...
Evening all...
Sorry for the lack of blogging this past week. I've been off work ill, i've had some horrible bug which really has knocked me for six but I am back and feeling back to my normal self!!
So...before my leave of absence I was telling you all that I had lots of commissions coming in left right and centre. Well I've finished them over the weekend - and now guess what? I've got four more! It just doesn't seem to stop and I love it!
So my number one fan ordered a birthday card for her Grandma and Grandad after seeing the ones I made for my other friend. As it was for her, I knew I had to make them extra special - so I set to work. Tonight I am going to show you the "Grandma" card.
I knew that if I wanted an extra pretty girly card I know I had to use my Pink Petticoat stash. I used an image of a wheelbarrow stocked up with some beautiful flower pots which I coloured in using Promarkers. I love the prettiness of the yellow its so fresh and bright without being too in your face. I used kraft card and another Pink Petticoat release - daisy bouquet in daffodil. I finished the card off with my homemade sentiment ribbon, some button twine and a couple of adhesive pearls!
I liked the outcome so much, I recreated it for my mums friends Birthday in pink!
For this card I used a sentiment tag which I stitch on when stitching the background. I really like these, I think I'm going to be using them more often. I finished this with bakers twine and a beautiful bright pink button.
So what do you think?
I hope you're all ok! I've been keeping up to date with all the blogs - they've been cheering me up whilst recovering.
I'll be back tomorrow, with "Grandad's" card.

For Mum...
Morning all...
How is everyone? (think this is scheduled for Thursday!)
Ok so i'm getting through my commission orders - I've nearly finished them all! Only two left to make.
So today I thought I'd share another one with you! This was an order received from my Auntie to be! Its for her mum who's favourite colour is purple, as you can see I used this information to make the card.
I made this card using Pink Petticoats new release "hydrangeas". It is my new favourite! So pretty! I also used another Pink Petticoat release - the large western font! I also love this font! After the success with my felt flower on Tuesdays card, I made another one to compliment this cards colour scheme!! I finished it off with some lilac adhesive gems and Voila!
What do you think?
Right well I'm back off to the christmas cards - can't wait to show you the finished article!

Man Love...
Hello again... (apologises for another automated post)
How is everyone? What has everyone been up too? I do try and follow a few blogs but its just such a wide world out there and so many to choose from so I apologise if I don't currently follow yours! If you read mine and would like me to return the favour, just drop me a comment and I will be more than happy to follow you and check out your creations!
So... as I was saying yesterday I had fallen into the category of a "bad friend" for forgetting a birthday, and it was a man birthday none the less so I had to set to work racking my brains for a card design to send. As I have mentioned on numerous occasions cards for men are not my favourite things to make and nine times out of ten I am not happy with the outcome but I have to admit, this one I rather like.
It was made using a 6x6 card base with Papertrey's Enchanted Evening. I cut out two oval shapes using my nestabilities - one scalloped and one not and stamped in red "birthday wishes". This stamp is a new release from Papertrey and I love it, so versatile and can create such a simple card. I finished the card of with a strip of my favourite kraft card, some lovely cream satin ribbon and I managed to find a matching blue gem- perfect!
So what do you think?
Hope you all have a great day, and i'll be back tomorrow to share something else with you :)

Just a note...
Morning all...
(just to let you know this is an automated post - I rarely get time during the week to actually sit down and blog until the deepest darkest hours of the evening so I thought, it's Sunday, I have a few spare moments I'll schedule some now so my readers have something to read at a sensible hour!)
So how is everyone?
Yes - it is true, I have started my Christmas cards, there I've said it! To be honest it does feel really good. I am a very long way off finishing but at least I can say I've started. Has anyone else?
Today I wanted to show you a card I made for "my number 1" I don't know if I ever told you her name - its Chloe! Being busy recently I completely forgot it was her other halves birthday so I had to make something quick, get, wrap and post a present in one day. As usual though I couldn't leave her out! So whilst I was traipsing looking for the perfect man gift (why are men just so difficult?) I picked up a few bits for her too! Of course I couldn't send her a gift without a card - and so todays post was born!!
Pretty, hey? I made the card using the gorgeously smooth kraft card from Papertrey Ink and simply stitched onto it some lovely big flowery Pink Petticoat paper from the Wild Blossom Collection - I just can't get enough of Liz's papers at the moment. To finish it off I added another strip of kraft card to which I stamped my sentiment (another from Papertrey Ink) and made this beautiful felt flower using felt from Paper and String and finished it off with a pale green button (from god knows where!) and some button twine - from the ever faithful Ribbon Girl. I hope she likes it!
Thats all from me today, please feel free to leave me some comments - I will be back (automated) tomorrow.

And so it starts...
Evening all...
How is everyone? I have to admit i'm not like this rain much, I don't think it actually stopped for more than about 10 minutes each time!
Today I have experienced my first Saturday off work in 8 weeks and it was bliss! I had the most amazing lay in, a leisurely shower and then brunch! I don't think i've ever eaten brunch before and I have to admit I rather enjoyed it! And then I got down to business.
Yes I am afraid to mention the word this early but here goes... I began preparing Christmas Cards! Yikes I never thought I would say that in September, I'm more then type that starts in December, but it seems this year I am already in demand!
And so it starts... heres a few pictures to help you see how it started!
Adam managed to sneak some ones of me on the camera as well! :S I am aiming to make around 20 boxes - each box will have 8 handmade cards and they will be sold on my website with a donation going to a charity that will be revealed at a later date. Obviously at the moment they don't look very interesting but I promise you the finished articles will be.
So thats it for me tonight, I just wanted to update you all on what I had been up too, I know it's been a while since I blogged. I have a very busy day ahead of me tomorrow my aim is to get all the backgrounds sewn on to 140 cards ready for the fun bit. As well as that I also have 6 card commissions to make for next weekend! Busy busy busy! But at least I'll have lots to show you throughout the coming week.
Hope everyone enjoys the rest of their weekend.
I shall be back soon.

By Candle light...
Hello Everyone..
Just a quick post from me tonight, I want to show everyone what I made on Sunday! I am rather pleased with the outcome, I'm very much looking forward to making some more in time for Christmas.
I love the cuteness of the jam jars they are just the right size! And surprisingly they were so easy to make. I am so pleased I bought a kit for my first attempt, they give you everything you need, I think I probably could have spent a fortune of lots of things I didn't really need. Now I have lots of time to play with scents, decorations and packaging!! So what do you think? I'm sending one to my number one fan this week - I know she'll give me her honest opinion!
Hope you all had a good Tuesday!
Be back soon with something new!

Age ain't nothing but a number...
Evening all...
Hope you've all had a great Monday.
As I mentioned yesterday I finally got round to making my jam jar candles! I'll be showing you the outcome tomorrow.
But for now, I wanted to share with you a couple more cards I made over the weekend. One was a commission and the other was made for a family member.
I am completely in love with my new Papertrey Ink number dies, I can just already tell they are going to come in handy. I made these cards using Echo Park and Doodlebug papers and kraft card. Seeing as they were both for little boys I decided to finish them with just a touch of bakers twine.
What do you think? I can't wait to make some more cards using these numbers :)
I shall be back tomorrow with some pictures of my candles!!

Another Commission...
Evening all...
Hope you've all had a good Sunday.
Mine as definitely been productive! As I promised I'm back with one of my new commission pieces.
I received this commission a couple of weeks ago and they wanted it to be based on a previous post but just more manly - so this is what I came up with.
As I said today has been very productive, I have tidied, made lots of cards and made my very first batch of candles, all of these I shall be sharing with you throughout the week.
Enjoy the rest of your Sunday and I will be back with you tomorrow.

Busy Busy Busy...
Morning all...
So sorry I haven't blogged for a couple of days, I have been so busy.
The save the dates were picked up the other day and they completely love them! Now to get cracking with the invites!!
I finally finished my commission order on Friday and I am happy to say she was really pleased. Although i'm slightly disappointed in myself as I forgot to take pictures of the final two cards so I can't show you.
As soon as I finished this order, I received four more!! Im finding there just aren't enough hours in the day!!
So today I will mostly be making cards to try and catch up! I will definitely be back later to show you something i've finished!!
I'm also going to try and make my jam jar candles this afternoon. I'll let you know how it goes.
Have a good sunny Sunday, and I'll be back later.
