Happy Saturday News

Morning

How is everyone?

Just a quick post from me this morning - i'll be back over the weekend I promise (theres some challenges I need to enter and a few other things!)

OK....So as many of you know I have a slight obsession with Pink Petticoat.  I love the simplicity and the CAS designs and all the paper collections and the image sets and the designs (basically there isn't anything I don't like.)  Last month Liz started sharing on her blog some i{nspiration}Candy, which are cards that people have made using Pink Petticoat products.

I was just having a quick flick through my blogger feed this morning and noticed that she'd mentioned me!!! So chuffed, this has definitely made my day.  Now one of the cards I had made as a commission and had only posted on twitter so this morning I thought I'd share it with you on here! (sorry for the poor photos)

I made it using papers from the "Perfect Papers" set.  I made the rose using die cuts from Papertrey Ink- I'm in the process of doing a tutorial on this which I'll be posting shortly!

Thats it from me for now - just thought i'd share my good news!

Have a lovely Saturday!

Less Is More - Masking Challenge!

Morning all...

Hope you are all well!

When it comes to crafting I am always up for a challenge, and this weeks Less Is More blog challenge definitely tested all my creative brain cells.

For our theme this week, we have a technique which was pre-empted by many of you last week, we would like to see some evidence of
MASKING
but we still need to see white space and a clean and simple design.

MASKING? I mean I'd heard of it but never attempted it and now I know why! I think I must of had at least a dozen attempts!  I had so many ideas flowing through my head but everything I tried...ended up in the bin!

I'd almost given up, but then I woke up with one of my 3am thoughts and this morning I gave it one more go! Now before I show you the pictures, I know its not perfect but after all my attempts I'm entering it anyway!

So here goes!

I love this PTI set - although I've only used it once before, perfect for a little "note" card though!

I have a day off today and I am planning to get to work on my ever growing to do list!

Also wanted to just mention the lovely comments people have been leaving me - they mean so much! Thank you!

For Mum - and CAS-ual Fridays!

Evening

How was everyone's weekend? I hope all you mums had a lovely day yesterday!

I know it's slightly belated but I wanted to share with you the three cards I made for that special day! All three are completely different styles! Bear with me there are quite a few pictures!

So let's start with the for my mum!

I have completely fallen in love with PTI's Alpha die cuts, they are so versatile and easy to use! I'd had this image in my head for ages and it was so nice to see it come to life! It's so CAS and says exactly what it needed to say!

Next up was a card for my Grandma!

Another thing I have completely fallen for from PTI is Raspberry Fizz! I love everything about it- it's brightness and it's ability to brighten up any card! I used it twice on this card- for the fillable frame (so glad I have these in my life) and the gorgeous "In Bloom" paper! (doesn't kraft and raspberry fizz go well together!) Although my favourite thing about this card is the cute flowers!

Last but not least the card I had the most trouble with! It has been my biggest problem for the last week! I ordered the PTI garden variety set after seeing the design team revisiting it a couple of weeks ago and loved everything about it but I struggled so much placing it together- but after hours of playing around I think I cracked it! :) I paired it with the amazing new "chevron" colour collection set from Pink Petticoat (Liz, you are a genius!) I added some quirky stitching and a sentiment banner!

I like the outcome so much I'm entering it into this weeks CAS-ual Fridays blog challenge!

That's it from me tonight folks- hope you've enjoyed having a catch up! Please feel free to leave comments I do love to read them all :)

CFC43 - For Sentimental Reasons

Morning all... how are we?

Just a flying visit from me i'm afraid this morning.  Things are ever so slightly hectic in the Flutterby household this week.  I'm starting to get slightly frustrated I don't have a proper crafting area and I think its putting me off making much at all.  But I had to sit down and try my best for this weeks CAS-ual Friday blog challenge - "For Sentimental Reasons"

I have had this idea in my head since the weekend and finally had chance to bring it to life!

I used all Papertrey Ink products (surprise surprise!!) I did think about adding ribbon or something but I love it just the way it is!

Made just in time to enter this weeks competition!

So...What do you think?

Thats it from me this morning, i'll be back over the next few days! Hopefully I'll have more time to enter a few more challenges over the weekend!

Take Care!

With Deepest Sympathy

Morning!

Just a mini post from me this morning.  Its always hard creating a sympathy card, and luckily I haven't had to make more than one or two.  I have to admit I had a large lump at the back of my throat when I had to make this one for my friend and work colleague Julie who sadly lost her battle with cancer.  Julie herself was a very crafty lady so I knew I had to create something special.  I hope she would have liked this.

This is one of my favourite Pink Petticoat releases, it is so versatile. I printed on to kraft card and distressed the edges before stitching onto a plain cream background.  I used some adhesive gems and button twine to finish this card.  I'm so proud of creating this I am also entering it into the Less is More challenge along with my earlier entry.

Thank you for reading, check back later.

New Baby

Evening all...
How are we? Hope you all had a nice weekend! Mine was very crafty- we managed to get all the wedding invitations done! It was so nice to do something I love with someone I love! I'll be sharing some piccies with you soon!

After such a positive from my first challenge I decided to have a go at another one! So tonight I'm sharing what I made for the CAS-ual Fridays - CFC 42 - New Baby.

I used my new alphabet die from Papertrey and some of their papers.  I also tried some different stitching -in baby pink! All finished off with some good old bakers twine! Perfect for a new little munchkin!

I think I might be getting the hang of this challenge malarky!

I'll be back tomorrow with something else, and maybe some invite pictures!

Until then..take care.

A new challenge...

Morning Everyone!

Its lovely and sunny here today! Which is very good news because...the number one fan is coming to visit....YAY!

Although its not going to be all fun and games, we are designing and making her wedding invites this weekend.  Im very excited to get my creative hands on a meaty project like this! Hopefully I will be able to post you the results over the next few days.

Right so on to my card for today.  Well another one of my new years resolutions was to join in to some challenges, and today I will be entering my first.  I am going to be taking part in the "Less is More" Week 57 - colour theme challenge.

NEUTRALS
This could be anything from off white to black with any shade of beige, brown or grey in between.

Which ties in perfectly with a card I made for my uncle getting a new job!  I love the fact the staples give it a masculine feel but also are a great way of attaching the ribbon! I think i might be on the hunt for some coloured ones on my excursion to Hobby Craft today!

What do you think?
Wish me luck :)

I'll be back some time over the weekend! Until then...

Two cards...one post!

Evening all...

IT'S FRIDAY!!!!

The vino is open, dinners in the oven giving me just enough time to blog!

I wanted to share a couple of things with you tonight! One is a bit like something I made a while back but also a bit different the other was a bit of an experiment! I think it works...ish! But let's see what you think!

So it was Adams uncles BIG 50! My thoughts, it needs to be something extra special, I was quite happy at this point and then I realised IT WAS FOR A MAN! :( I looked to my trusty Papertrey Ink die and stamp sets for inspiration and here's what I came up with.

I die cut the numbers out of the Kraft card and stuck some distressed dot paper in Scarlet Jewel behind! I finished with a simple sentiment and button twine.

And now for a card I've kind of made before, but I have to admit I like this version much MUCH more!

Simple but perfect for my friend who's cherry mad!

I used watermark ink for the cherries to add depth!
So that's it for me today... I'll be back over the weekend with more!

Enjoy your evening!

In Bloom

Morning all...

Thought I'd grab a few minutes before work to share something's with you!

I've been busy creating over the last few days. I'm getting quite a few enquiries about making wedding invitations! It's very exciting- think I may have to make a few belated birthday cards just in case!

So I wanted to show you a card I made for my Grandma's birthday last week...I have recently received a new Papertrey Ink stash and I couldn't wait to use it! I'd been erming and arghing about whether or not to buy the "In Bloom" stamp set but after seeing the beautiful creations Katie makes with it I just couldn't resist!

I also purchased the Papertrey ink in several colours- I think I'm going to have to collect them all! They are so easy to use and you don't get all the horrible excess ink everywhere, it also makes cleaning the stamp far easier! On this card I used Raspberry Fizz, Melon Berry and Autumn Rose. I finished the card with some baby pink ribbon, my new Think it Big sentiments and some random adhesive crystals (you can't go wrong with a bit of bling!) I can't wait to use this set again!!

Thank you for reading, I'll be back soon.

Take Care
